The Academy of Athens announced the annual awards yesterday, earlier than expected. Besides honorary and lifelong achievements awards, the Academy has selected a list of scientific papers published in international journals as year 2015 recipients. I am not aware of who participates in the evaluation committees of the Academy (current President is Prof. Dimitri Nanopoulos); however, I take it that they are (or should be) world-known scientists specialists in the fields of the the awards.
